Burial information from Pruett1, who also says Collins appears in a parole of POWs, office of the Provost Marshall General, Army of the Potomac 09- 30-1862. His father in applying for pay & allowances due the deceased soldier stated that he served until "on or about 11-01-1862 when he died as de[s]pondent, believed having been severely wounded in Battle of Sharpsburg on 09-17-1862, & captured by enemy. " .
