Home State: New York
Command Billet: Commanding Regiment
Branch of Service: Infantry
Unit: 94th New York Infantry
Littlefield was appointed Lieutenant Colonel of the 94th New York Infantry at its original organization in October 1861. After 2nd Bull Run, where Colonel Root was wounded, the command of the regiment came to Lieutenant Colonel Littlefield.
On the Campaign
He commanded the Regiment in Maryland.
The rest of the War
Littlefield resigned 1 November 1862, though he may have left the Regiment earlier, as evidenced by the fact that Lieutenant Moffett wrote the Regiment's Antietam after-action report as Commanding Officer 3 days after the battle.
