Before the Antietam Campaign: He enlisted as Private, Company G of the 10th Georgia Infantry on 3 December 1861, as a Substitute. In the Antietam Campaign: He was mortally wounded and captured in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September. The remainder of the War: Died at Lavinia Grove's Farm, Md.
