Before the Antietam Campaign: He was listed as Private in Company A and 3rd Sergeant, Company E, 15th Virginia Infantry. In the Antietam Campaign: Probably killed or mortally wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September. The remainder of the War: Originally buried "in Rev. J. J. Adams town lot, back of the M. E.
