Wounded in left lung and captured at Monocacy, Md. July 9, 1864. Died of wounds in U.S.A. General Hospital at Frederick City, Md. Aug. 2, 1864. Originally buried "along the west side and in cemetery at Frederick [Maryland]". Probably reinterred at Hagerstown in about 1874.
