Before the Antietam Campaign:
The battery's first commander, Capt Thaddeus P Mott, resigned in July 1862. In June of that year Lt WIlliam Stuart was promoted to Captain, and assumed command.

The remainder of the War:
Capt Stuart was dismissed [why?] from the battery 13 April 1863.
