Before the Antietam Campaign: He enlisted in Company G on 1 March 1862 at Autaugaville, AL. In the Antietam Campaign: Mortally wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862. The remainder of the War: Originally buried "on west side of cemetery at Frederick." Probably reinterred at Hagerstown in about 1874.
