Before Sharpsburg

In 1860 he was 28 year old farmer at Haralson in Coweta County, GA. He enlisted as a Private in Company D, 53rd Georgia Infantry on 6 May 1862 in Coweta County.

On the Campaign

He was killed in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was originally buried "in Mrs. Lucker's [Locker's] barn field near an old well; have been plowed over" on the battlefield at Sharpsburg.

After the War

He was probably reinterred in Washington Confederate Cemetery in Hagerstown in about 1874.
