Wounded at Gettysburg, July 1, 1863, captured at Williamsport, MD July 10, 1863, and died in hospital in Hagerstown, MD. Originally buried "In Alms house lot at Hagerstown." Probably reinterred at the Confederate Cemetery in about 1874.
