"G", the Pope Walker Guards of Calhoun County, Captain Whatley was killed in action at Sharpsburg on the 17th. The remainder of the War: Originally buried "In the 1st field of Wm. Ruletts [Roulette's] along Lane" on the battlefield at Sharpsburg. Probably reinterred at Hagerstown in about 1874.
