Before the Antietam Campaign: Age 27, student from Northboro on enlistment in July 1861. He was in Company C. # 1 Aug 1861 Promoted to Sergeant 1 August 1861, and 2nd Lieutenant 17 January 1862. In the Antietam Campaign: He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862. The remainder of the War: Commissioned Captain 24 October 1862. Wounded again in action at Gettysburg 2-3 July 1863. After the War: He had studied the law, and by 1900 was living in Oakland, California. In 1920 he was in Santa Barbara.
