Age 28, from Sampson County, NC, he was conscripted in Raleigh, NC on 23 July 1862 and mustered as a Private in Company G, 3rd North Carolina Infantry.

On the Campaign

He was mortally wounded in action at SHarpsburg on 17 September 1862 and died soon after in the hands of the enemy.

The rest of the War

His name appears on a list of paroled prisoners at Sharpsburg, but no other prisoner of war or hospital records found.
