Basic information from Commonwealth of Massachusetts1. Age 18, a carpenter in Boston on enlistment in June 1861. Wounded in action 30 August 1862 at 2nd Bull Run. Missing in action at Gettysburg, PA 1 July 1863. Promoted Sergeant. Wounded at Cold Harbor, VA 30 May 1864. Transferred to the 39th Massachusetts Infantry in June 1864.
