He was wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

In February 1863 he was detailed back to Early County, GA to collect stragglers. He was again wounded, in the leg, near Winchester, VA on 15 June 1863. His leg was amputated but he died of his wounds at Jordan Springs, VA on 7 July 1864.

His service from Henderson,1 who has him as John Bradshaw and says he was wounded and died in 1864, and from his Compiled Service Records,2 online from fold3, as J.W. Bradshaw. His gravesite is on Findagrave.
