Before Sharpsburg

A civil engineer, he enrolled as 2nd Lieutenant of Company K, 13th Georgia Infantry on 8 July 1861 and was appointed First Lieutenant and Adjutant of the regiment the same day (or on 1 August) 1861.

On the Campaign

He was killed in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862, possibly while serving on the staff of Colonel Douglass, commanding the Brigade.
