Before the Antietam Campaign:
He was a 26 year old from Coventry, and enlisted 13 August 1862 in Company D, 14th Connecticut Infantry.

In the Antietam Campaign:
He was wounded by artillery fire in the Roulette farm lane on 17 September 1862 at Antietam.

The remainder of the War:
He was discharged for disability on 17 October 1862 and returned home. He died there on 11 November.
