Before the Antietam Campaign:
He enlisted in Company A, 108th New York Infantry in Rochester in July 1862.

The remainder of the War:
He was sick after the battle of Fredericksburg in December 1862, and was in various hospitals until being discharged on 4 March 1863.

After the War:
He was a farmer after the war. He lived in East Henrietta, NY from about 1874 to at least 1892.
