To Corporal in October 1862 and Sergeant January 1864. WIA 1 July 1864 at Cold Harbor, VA and on 10 and 12 May 1864 at Spottsylvania Courthouse. WIA at Hatcher's Run in October 1864. Mustered out in June 1865 as First Sergeant.
