Before Antietam

He enlisted at Brockport, NY on 22 April 1861 in the 13th New York Infantry, and mustered in as Sergeant in Company K in May. He transferred to Company B in October, and was discharged in April 1862. He enlisted as Sergeant in Company H, 108th New York Infantry on 26 July 1862 in Rochester.

On the Campaign

He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862 at Antietam.

The rest of the War

Discharged from the 108th for disability in December 1862. After recovering he enlisted in Company H, 22nd New York Cavalry in Brockport in December 1863 and was Commisary Sergeant. Captured on Wilson's Raid in July 1864, exchanged in December 1864, but died of disease shortly afterward in Baltimore, MD.
