He enlisted in Company F, 5th Alabama Infantry, date not given.

In the Antietam Campaign:
One of 5 men of Company F to answer roll call on 18 September 1862.

The remainder of the War:
He was captured in action at Chancellorsville, VA on 3 May 1863.

After the War:
He was in Alabama through at least 1870 where he had his fourth and last child with his first wife. He was in Texas by 1878, when he married his second wife. Their first 8 children were born in Texas, and their ninth (and last) in Pueblo, NM in 1899.
