Before the Antietam Campaign:
Enrolled as 2nd Lieutenant, Company D, 18th Georgia Infantry in May 1861. Elected 1st Lieutenant July 16, 1862.

In the Antietam Campaign:
He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862.

The remainder of the War:
Elected Captain April 1863. Absent without leave April l, 1864. Dropped from rolls February 15, 1865.

After the War:
Received an Indigent Pension in Wilcox County, GA in 1909.
