In the Antietam Campaign: He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862. The remainder of the War: Wounded in left arm, necessitating amputation above elbow, and captured at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania July 2, 1863. Paroled at Johnson's Island, Ohio March 14, 1865.
