He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862.

The remainder of the War:
Appointed 1st Sergeant May 3, 1863. Transferred to Company A, 3rd Battalion Georgia Sharpshooters and elected 1st Lieutenant June 8, 1863. Captured at Sailor's Creek, Virginia April 6, 1865. Released at Johnson's Island, Ohio June 20, 1865.

After the War:
He died later than 1920.
