He was captured in action on 13 September 1862 at Middletown, MD.

The remainder of the War:
Exchanged on 10 November 1862. Captured in action at Petersburg, VA on 2 April 1865 and imprisoned at Pt. Lookout, MD. Paroled 10 May 1965.

After the War:
Buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Confederate Section Site 165-A.
