Before the Antietam Campaign:
He was in Company B.

In the Antietam Campaign:
He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.

The remainder of the War:
Wounded in the left leg at Bristoe Station, VA on 14 October 1863, and his left leg was amputated. Retired to the Invalid Corps on 19 November 1864.
