Before the Antietam Campaign:
He enlisted 28 April 1862 in Company B.

In the Antietam Campaign:
He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.

The remainder of the War:
Captured at Bristoe Station, VA on 14 October 1863. Held in the Old Capitol Prison, Washington, DC and transferred to Point Lookout, MD on 3 February 1864. He died at Point Lookout on 18 September 1864 of unknown cause.
