On the Antietam Campaign

Companies G (with the 9th Corps), H, and M (5th Corps) were detailed to Headquarters orderly and escort duty on the Maryland Campaign. The rest of the Regiment was not at Antietam, having been detached and held for duty at Frederick, Md as Provost Guard on 13 September 1862.1
