History of the Unit:
Also known as the 37th Regiment of the line, they were organized from infantry companies originally organized as 90-day units at Camp Wright near Pittsburgh in June 1861.

The remainder of the War:
The regiment mustered out of service at the end of their three year term in May 1864. New recruits and re-enlisting veterans were transferred to the 100th and 91st Pennsylvania Regiments.
