On the Maryland Campaign the " Tenth passed through Frederick City, and came back into Virginia by Williamsport to Martinsburg, where it was left on duty with the Second Virginia, while Jackson captured Harper's Ferry. The Tenth remained here until the army returned to Virginia, after the battle of Sharpsburg".1
