David Watson Rowe

Known by Watson, he was a lawyer from Greencastle, PA, and enlisted for three months' service as Private in the Second Pennsylvania Infantry on 20 April 1861, and served in the Shenandoah Valley. He was promoted to Sergeant Major and First Lieutenant before mustering out on 26 July. He mustered into the 126th Pennsylvania Infantry on 8 August 1862 as Captain of Company K, and was appointed Lieutenant Colonel of the Regiment on the 13th.

The Regiment arrived at Sharpsburg on the morning of 18 September, part of Humphrey's Division.

He was in combat at Fredericksburg in December, and took command of the Regiment when Colonel Elder was wounded there. He was himself slightly wounded in action at Chancellorsville on 3 May 1863. He mustered out with the Regiment on 20 May 1863.

He returned to Greencastle and the practice of law. In 1868 he was appointed, and later elected, to the bench as President Judge of the 16th judicial district of Pennsylvania.
