Before Antietam
A 33 year old chandler in Reading, he enlisted there on 20 August 1861, and mustered as Private, Company B, 50th Pennsylvania Infantry on 16 September in Harrisburg.
On the Campaign
He was killed in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862.
