Before Antietam
Age 22, he enlisted on 20 September 1861 in Philadelphia and mustered into service as Private, Company C, 69th Pennsylvania Infantry on 26 November at Camp Observation, MD.
On the Campaign
He was mortally wounded in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862 and died two days later.
