Before Antietam
He was appointed Captain, Company G, 155th Pennsylvania Infantry on its organization in August 1862.
On the Campaign
Tended baggage and knapsacks of members of the Regiment who crossed the Potomac at Shepherdstown on 19 September. Ordered Lt. Meeker to take the Company across.
The rest of the War
He resigned on 10 January 1863.
After the War
Returned to his home in Clarion County, PA and practiced medicine.
