From Putnam County, he mustered as Private, Company B, 2nd Battalion, Georgia State Troops on 21 October 1861 and was discharged 4 May 1862. The next day he mustered as Private in Company F, 44th Georgia Infantry.
On the Campaign
He was killed in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
