Before Sharpsburg

An overseer's son, in 1860 he was a 21 year old living with his parents and 3 sisters (probably on Dr Robert E.J. Thompson's plantation, 4 slaves) at Midville in Burke County, GA. He enlisted there on on 4 March 1862 and mustered as a Private in Company D, 48th Georgia Infantry.

On the Campaign

He was killed in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
