He enlisted in Company B, 6th Georgia Infantry on 17 July 1861.

On the Campaign

He was wounded by gunshot to the left thigh in action and was captured at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was was treated at a US Army hospital in Frederick, MD from 18 November to 24 December 1862, when he was transferred to Baltimore, MD, probably for exchange. He died at Richmond, VA on 3 July 1864.
