On the Campaign

He was wounded in the leg above the ankle in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862 (or at Turner's Gap on South Mountain on 15 September).

The rest of the War

He returned to duty in late 1863 but was killed in action at Petersburg, VA on 21 June 1864.
