Before Sharpsburg
He enlisted as a Private in Company E, 2nd Louisiana Infantry on 9 May 1861 at Camp Walker, LA. He was promoted to 2nd Sergeant on 1 May 1862 and was absent, sick in a hospital in Richmond, VA in July and August.
On the Campaign
He was missing in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was still listed as missing to April 1863 with no further military record.
