Before Antietam
Age 21, he enlisted and mustered into service as a Private in Company A, 90th Pennsylvania Infantry on 20 February 1862 in Philadelphia.
On the Campaign
He was wounded by a gunshot in Maryland in September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was admitted to a US Army hospital in Frederick, MD on 13 September and sent on to Washington, DC on 22 September. He was listed as "not accounted for" on his Company's muster-out roll.
