Before Antietam
A 24 year old confectioner in Chester County, he enlisted and mustered as Private, Company C, 90th Pennsylvania Infantry on 9 March 1862 in Philadelphia.
On the Campaign
He was injured at Antietam on 17 September 1862, his back sprained. He was also listed as a deserter from 16 September.
The rest of the War
He was treated at a hospital in Harrisburg, PA with no further military record.
After the War
By 1880 he was living in Philadelphia with his wife and 2 children and working as a carpenter.
