David Allen Lecky

A 38 year old farmer in Elizabeth Township, Allegheny County, he enrolled on 26 August 1861 and mustered as Captain, Company M, 100th Pennsylvania Infantry on 5 September in Pittsburgh. He was promoted to Major on 9 October and to Lieutenant Colonel on 12 July 1862.

He commanded the regiment in Maryland; Colonel Daniel Leasure was absent having been wounded at Bull Run on 29 August.

He resigned his commission on 30 December 1862.

He worked in a machine shop in Monongahela, near Pittsburg, and moved to McKeesport about 1887.

He married Sarah Sutton (c. 1823-1844) in 1842, but she died shortly after birthing their second child. He married Elizabeth Jane Warne (1825-1913) in 1853 and they had 8 children together.
