Before Sharpsburg

In 1860 he was a 24 year old farmer at Warrenton in Warren County, GA. He enlisted there on 4 March 1862 and mustered as a Private in Company B, 48th Georgia Infantry.

On the Campaign

He was severely wounded in the shoulder in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was admitted to the Camp Wilder Hospital in Richmond, VA on 28 September and sent home on furlough home on 3 (or 7) October 1862 for 35 days. He returned to duty and was with his company to at least October 1864, with no later military record.

After the War

By 1870 and to at least 1880 he was a farmer in Warren County, GA.
