Age 20, he enlisted 13 November 1861 at Holley and mustered in as Private, Company C, 105th New York Infantry on 3 December.
On the Campaign
He died of disease in the Smoketown Hospital on 31 October 1862.
After the War
He was originally buried at Smoketown but was reinterred in the new Antietam National Cemetery in about 1867.
