Otto Schorse

He was a druggist from age 15 in his native city before emigrating to America in 1857. Still a druggist, by then in Milwaukee, he enlisted in Company F, 6th Wisconsin Infantry on 10 May 1861, and was First Sergeant. He was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant on 11 December 1861 and First Lieutenant on 16 July 1862. He was appointed Quartermaster of the Regiment on 31 July 1862.

He also served as Brigade Quartermaster on the Campaign. He was promoted on 18 September 1862 from Regimental Quartermaster to Captain of Company F, on the death of Captain von Bachelle.

He resigned on 28 August 1863.

He was a druggist in Milwaukee, and was running his own store - Schorse & Company - by 1865 and at least until 1894.
