Before Sharpsburg

A 24 year old sailor from New Orleans, he enlisted on 10 May 1861 in New Orleans and mustered as a Private in Company B, 5th Louisiana Infantry at Camp Moore on 4 June 1861. He was elected Junior 2nd Lieutenant on 16 August 1862.

On the Campaign

He was killed in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
