References & notes

His service from Henderson1, who says only that he was last noted in the roll of 31 August 1862. Death information here from an exhibit of his bible (now at the Minnesota Historical Society), which was found on his body on the field at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

His memorial is on Findagrave; it has his burial at Washington Confederate Cemetery in Hagerstown, MD, but his name is not on the list of those probably buried there.
