Age 27, he enlisted on 25 January 1862 in Brooklyn, NY to serve three years and mustered as a Private in Company K, 102nd New York Infantry on 3 February 1862. He was transferred to Company E and promoted to Corporal, dates not given.
On the Campaign
He was killed in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862.
After the War
His mother Mary in County Cavan, Ireland, began receiving a US Pension in 1880 based on Frank's service.
