On the Campaign

He was wounded by gunshot in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was treated at a US Army hospital in Frederick, MD from 25 to 30 September, when he was sent on to Philadelphia. He was discharged on 13 March 1863 for wounds.
