Before Antietam

In 1860 he was a 16 year old farm boy on his parent's place in Wells Township, Fulton County, PA. He enlisted there on 6 December 1861 and mustered as a Sergeant in Company H, 107th Pennsylvania Infantry on 9 January 1862 in Harrisburg.

On the Campaign

He was mortally wounded in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He died of wounds on 6 February 1863, place not given.
