Before Antietam
A 33 year old miller in Lewiston, he enlisted there on 25 January 1862 and mustered into service as Private, Company F, 107th Pennsylvania Infantry on 8 March in Harrisburg.
On the Campaign
He was mortally wounded in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He died on 9 October in a hospital in Washington, DC.
